FRITZBox integrates smart phones into your home network
AVM premiered an application for smart phones at the CeBIT 2010. The beauty of the FRITZ!App software is that iPhones or mobile phones with the Android operating system can be used at home for fixed-line and ADSL communication. All you have to do is connect your mobile phone to the FRITZ!Box via WLAN.FRITZ!App for Android mobile phones and the iPhone

New possibilities for home networks
More and more people have started using their smart phones at home because WLAN and ADSL connections improve ease-of-use and speed tremendously. The difference in speed when surfing or sending e-mails with ADSL is unmistakable. The WLAN ADSL connection is also ideally suited for uploading photos and videos to Facebook, YouTube and other services. Apps are also available that let you access files in the network storage (NAS) or use your phone as a remote control (UPnP control point). It's easy and cheap to make calls and use data applications via the Internet or the fixed-line network.
The German FRITZ!App lab gets underway for the CeBIT
AVM showcased new application options in a German FRITZ!App lab for Android mobile phones at this year's CeBIT. An iPhone version will be close on its heels. In the planning stages for one of the next versions is HD telephony with new features, which will allow smart phones to be used at home with greatly voice quality for phone calls.
