"The real value lies in the detailed features..."

On this PC Advisor and ZDNet agree: The FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN is perfect for SOHO applications, but is just as effective as a home router implementation. In either case, one thing is certain: it’s “packed with features“. In addition to normal modem and router operation, the FRITZ!Box offers not only a multitude of additional functions, including “an answering machine, fax handling, USB storage sharing and an eco-mode that monitors power usage” – it also stands out for its “clear and functional user interface.”

The simple installation and secure WLAN encryption out of box also earn praise: “Installation of the FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7270 router is very straightforward, thanks to the graphical wizard-driven installation routine which takes you through the entire setup process. AVM ships the FRITZ!Box 7270 with the highest level of wireless encryption (WPA2) already enabled.”

PC Advisor grants a distinction of “PC Advisor Recommended”, while ZDNet rates it “Excellent” with a score of 8.5 points. In a nutshell, ZDNet summarizes: “The FRITZ!Box 7270 is well designed and packed with features. DECT and 802.11 are major additions, but the real value lies in the detailed features built around those functions. The 7270 should prove extremely useful as a small office or home gateway.”
