The FRITZ!Box 7270’s USB port is on the back of the box, pretty much right in the middle.

The FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7270 doesn’t just offer basic functions like Internet access, a PBX for telephones and a fax machine as well as a DECT base station for cordless telephones, it also has a host of other features, giving you maximum versatility. This article describes all the different things you can do just with the FRITZBox’s USB port.

Access to USB storage

A USB storage device – be it a memory stick or a hard drive – that is connected to the FRITZ!Box 7270 can be used by all of the PCs in the network and even over the Internet. There are three different options for various application scenarios.

Access to a USB printer

There are two different ways to access a printer plugged in to the FRITZ!Box’s USB port: either by using it like a network printer from several PCs or by accessing it from a single PC via the USB remote port. You can read about the advantages of both scenarios and how to proceed in detail here.

FRITZ!Box as a media server

Your FRITZ!Box 7270 can distribute media files stored on a USB storage device, e.g. photos, music and videos, to all suitable playback devices in the network. Simply connect the memory stick or the hard drive to the FRITZ!Box and follow the steps described here.

Online via wireless technology (UMTS/HSPA)

You can also use UMTS/HSPA to go online via mobile broadband Internet. A compatible USB modem or a data stick can be easily connected to the FRITZ!Box 7270. Just follow the instructions here.
