Update: more flexibility for the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater 300EWith the new firmware for the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater 300E, even more features have come to the fore. Alongside the conventional wireless connection between the WLAN base station and the FRITZ!WLAN repeater, the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater 300E can now be connected to the base station using a network cable.
WLAN repeater and WLAN access point
With the new firmware, the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater 300E can now be connected to the base station using a network cable.
The new “Ethernet bridge” operating mode transforms the Repeater 300E into a bona fide WLAN access point. Data is then directly transmitted to the wireless devices connected to the repeater, and then on to the router, or Internet, via the network connection. Unlike in classic repeater modes, there is no double-step WLAN system, so data throughput is boosted.
Desired name, push email and a more intelligent night service
Anyone who installs more than one FRITZ!WLAN Repeater 300E now has the option to assign a unique name to the repeater to bring up the user interface via the browser. If set to do so, the repeater will also send off status emails at regular intervals. With the current lab firmware on the FRITZ!Box, the repeater also assumes the wireless night service settings on the FRITZ!Box as required.
The new repeater firmware is available now in our download area.
