Series part 2: expanding the WLAN range
The range of the WLAN network is dependent on various factors. The FRITZ!WLAN Repeaters expand the range of home networks quickly and securely.Enhance coverage

Expand the range quickly and conveniently with FRITZ!WLAN Repeaters
Placing the FRITZ!WLAN Repeater
Thanks to the compact design of the FRITZ!WLAN Repeaters, they can be plugged in pretty much anywhere. The benefits of this are that you won’t need to lay any new cables and the diminutive repeaters do their job reliably and discreetly. When choosing a location, bear in mind that the repeater needs a stable connection to the WLAN network. It shouldn’t therefore be placed at the far edge where the signal hardly registers.
Better safe than sorry
The FRITZ!Box WLAN network is WPA factory-encoded with an individual, sixteen-character password – and the FRITZ!WLAN Repeaters boast the same level of automatic security. All common radio standards (802.11n/g/b/a) are supported, offering users the broadest possible scope should they wish to expand their WLAN network in the future.
Quick and easy to set up
When registering, you have a choice of three methods: all you have to do is press a button in WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup). With Windows XP, Vista und Windows 7, there’s even an assistant to guide you through it. It goes without saying that the FRITZ!WLAN Repeaters can also be configured manually.
The FRITZ!WLAN Repeaters are compatible with all routers. To complement the FRITZ!Box, we offer a range of additional functions – which we’ll be looking at in the next issue of the home networking series.
