Installing the lab firmware

1. You have not yet installed the current firmware for your FRITZ!Box? Then you must first update the firmware to the latest release. Click here to find out how this works.
2. Save your current settings under "System / Save Settings". The saved settings will be needed if you want to switch back from the lab firmware back to the release firmware or switch to a different lab.

Once your FRITZ!Box has the latest firmware installed and your current settings have been saved, you can begin with the installation of the lab firmware.

1. Click "To the Download" and save the file on your computer.
2. Read and confirm the information displayed.
3. Unpack the lab file (*.zip).
4. Install the update from the user interface of the FRITZ!Box by clicking through: "Settings/ Advanced Settings / System / Firmware Update".
5. Select the "Firmware File" settings page. Enter the name of the lab firmware with its complete path in the input field (e.g. C:\Documents and Settings\\Desktop\FRITZ!Box-Lab-xxxx.image).
6. Click "Start Update".
7. Follow the instructions displayed on the screen. During the update process the "INFO" LED on your FRITZ!Box flashes, and turns off when the update is completed. Please be patient, as this process may take several minutes. As soon as the update has been completed, the FRITZ!Box is restarted and immediately ready for operation.
