After a firmware update, the "INFO" LED on FRITZ!Box blinks continuously. What can I do?

After you have performed a firmware update, the "INFO" LED may blink for up to 10 minutes. If the "INFO" LED blinks for longer than 10 minutes, then either an error occurred during the firmware installation, or the update file was corrupted during downloading. To fix this problem, carry out the following steps:

  1. Reset the FRITZ!Box by detaching the power supply from the FRITZ!Box for roughly 5 seconds.
  2. Open the FRITZ!Box user interface.
If you cannot open the configuration page, then empty your browser's cache and try again. In Internet Explorer, select "Internet Options" in the "Tools" menu. Click on the "Delete files" button in the "Temporary Internet Files" section.
  3. On the "Overview" page of the FRITZ!Box user interface, check which firmware version is installed. If the configuration page shows the current firmware version number, then the firmware update was successful. If an older version number still appears, download the update file from the download area on our homepage again without using a download manager. Repeat the update procedure with the new file.
  4. If the problems with the firmware update persist, connect your computer to FRITZ!Box by a different port (LAN or USB) to perform the update..
