Calls I dial on my telephone are automatically routed as VoIP calls over the Internet. How can I dial individual calls over the fixed line if I need to?

If your phone is connected to a FRITZ!Box extension that you have assigned an Internet phone number, or if your extension phone is an ISDN telephone that you have configured to use an Internet phone number, the FRITZ!Box automatically routes that phone's outgoing calls over the Internet.
Even so, you can still force outgoing calls via the fixed line.

Preparations

  1. Open the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. On the "Overview" page, check which firmware version is installed. If the version number is lower than xx.03.61, update the firmware of your FRITZ!Box.
  3. If you are using an ISDN PBX or ISDN telephone, configure the phone so that keypad sequences with * and # are transferred to the FRITZ!Box (refer to its manual).

Forcing outgoing calls via fixed line

  • In order to force outgoing calls via the fixed line, dial * 1 1 1 # before the number. For example, to call someone with the telephone number 1234567, dial *111#1234567.
