I want to update my FRITZ!Box firmware. Where can I get the update, and how do I install it?

AVM releases firmware updates at regular intervals. You can download the latest firmware free. Each new version allows you to use new and improved functions and features with your FRITZ!Box.
To update your FRITZ!Box firmware, proceed as follows:


Preparations

  • Connect the FRITZ!Box to a computer using a LAN port, USB port or via WLAN (not all FRITZ!Box models are equipped with WLAN or a USB port).

Installing current firmware version

  1. Go to the download area on our homepage.
  2. Select your product and operating system and click "Search Downloads".
  3. Download the current firmware for your FRITZ!Box .
  4. Open the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  5. "Settings" > "System" > "Update Firmware"
  6. Click "Browse..." and browse to the firmware update file on your hard disk.
  7. Click the "Update" button.
    8. The update procedure will now begin. During this time the INFO-LED will start flashing. Do not interrupt the power supply to the FRITZ!Box while the INFO LED is blinking!
