How can I operate my answering machine using the voice menu?

With the voice menu you can operate any answering machines configured in your FRITZ!Box. You can use it to switch an answering machine on or off, play back or record messages.


Preparations: Configuring ISDN telephones and PBXs

Only when using an ISDN telephone or PBX at extension "FON S0" (not available with all FRITZ!Box models):
  • Configure the phone so that keypad sequences with * and # are transferred to the FRITZ!Box (refer to its manual).

Operating the answering machine

  1. Lift the receiver of a phone connected to the FRITZ!Box.
  2. Dial
    * * 6 0 0 for Answering Machine 1
    * * 6 0 1 for Answering Machine 2
    * * 6 0 2 for Answering Machine 3
    etc.
    3. This accesses the voice menu of the corresponding answering machine.
  3. Listen to the menu options or press a key on your telephone to operate an answering machine. Refer to the answering machine menu for a list of which keys correspond to which functions.

    Press the # key to access the main menu at any time.
