Using the FRITZ!Box Push Service

The FRITZ!Box can send you e-mail messages at regular intervals (known as "Push Service mails") reporting on the status of FRITZ!Box and information about its use.
Configure the following settings if you would like to use this service:
  1. Open the FRITZ!Box user interface.
  2. "Settings" > "Advanced Settings" > "System" > "Push Service"
  3. Select the setting "Enable FRITZ!Box Push Service".
  4. Select the intervals at which the e-mail should be sent:
    daily: The e-mail message will be sent at midnight, at the end of each day.
    weekly: The e-mail will be sent at midnight Sunday, at the end of each week.
    monthly: The e-mail message will be sent at midnight on the last day of each billing month.
  5. In the "E-Mail return address" field, enter the e-mail address from which you wish to send the push service mails.
  6. Enter the password for your e-mail account and confirm it in the following field.
  7. Select the "Advanced Settings" tab and select what information should be contained in the Push Service mail.
  8. Under "Push Service Return Address Information" either change or leave the preconfigured name of sender ("FRITZ!Box").
  9. In the "Name of SMTP server" field, enter the SMTP server of your e-mail provider. If the SMTP server does not use the standard port 25, also enter the port number separated by a colon.
    Example:
    The name of the SMTP server is smtp.de.post.net and the SMTP server uses port 599. In this case, you would enter the following: smtp.de.post.net:599.
  10. Should you have any questions regarding the correct name and port number of the SMTP server used, please contact your e-mail provider. SMTP servers are used to send outgoing e-mails (SMTP = Simple Mail Transport Protocol.
  11. If the SMTP server requires authentification, check the option "This server supports a secure connection" and enter your e-mail user name.
  12. Click "Apply" to save your settings in the FRITZ!Box.
Once you have completed the configuration, you may click the "Test Push Service" button to send a test message and make sure that all settings are correct, and that the mail arrives at the specified recipient's address.
